What? Is there a such thing as over working your self ?

The day before yesterday I was doing high jumps and running. It was my first time really working out hard since I had my son. But I think I over worked myself because my calfs hurt so bad. Like I pulled muscles or something I can’t even walk normal. How do you know if you pulled a muscle? And can you over do it when exercise?

Yes, there is such a thing. Mentally, overworked, you could possibly like snap at someone, anytime. Physically, you could really hurt yourself. it is good to workout, and push yourself, but it is really bad to overwork yourself, you could really hurt yourself. You could tear a ligament, twist an ankle, anything really.

You can deffinetly hurt yourself if you do not stretch before you start you exercise. I do not believe you can hurt yourself but your body is most likley not use to so much physical movment sense you have no pushed yourself for a long period of time in a while. Best advice is to make sure you stretch before you begin your exercise and to do a warm up and cool down everytime, plus drink lots of water .

Well sure you could have pulled a muscle…or they may just be sore from overdoing it. A pulled or torn muscle is a muscle that has to rest and heal…but no matter what you do, if you don’t warm up to it…and then work up to doing it over the course of a few days, will make you sore.
