Answer #3

The Bible indicates the number will be few:

Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Its so funny how people that say “I dont believe in God/Jesus” get so mad when the subject pops up.The fact is that your acknowledging His prensence when you say that. When God created us in His image he gave us a free will to do as we pleased. If you forced everyone love you it wouldnt be the same as them loving you an their own.Isnt it funny that every culture in the world worships some kind of god.Why is that? Because when He created us He left a void that only He can fill(Holy Spirit) so we subcontiously try to fill that space with a higher purpose to life. Because our souls long to connect with God’s and the only way thats possible is through acknowledging His presence through praise and worship. To add to that, we have to go through His son Jesus Christ. So to all the people that say” I dont believe in God” do us all a favor and go find an athias blog or something to comment on. Why would you get so angry about something you dont believe in?Hummm? Besides, as christians we expect to be persecuted for our beliefs. The bible say count it all joy to be persecuted in Christ. I would never BASH someone for their beliefs because its their God given right. Anywho, to answer the question, I strive everyday to make sure Im ready for His return. Although I may slip from time to time I know that if I keep pressin forward and believing I be ready.

Will you serve me regardless of what others are doing???

Why is Jesus just speaking to you and a few thousand others? What about the rest of humanity?

Will you hear my teachings, and follow them???

I never heard anything from Jesus when I prayed, and I don’t even know if it’s really him speaking in the Bible.

Or, are you going to throw up your hands and quit, because of what others are doing?

Others had little to do with my personal spiritual journey…it was me, my own thoughts and questions.

We will not be judged according to what we think…

So God doesn’t care about my questions and concerns and doubts, it’s either I take the leap of faith or he’d just as soon toss my heretical a$$ in the fiery lake?

The narrow way, is not the way of the masses…

So God doesn’t apparently even CARE about the majority of his own creation? Why EVEN BOTHER TO COME???

The rest of your post is just a continuation of the same line of thinking.

The more I hear from the mouths of Christians, the less the religion seems to make sense, or make me want to have anything to do with it.

Answer #7

The question Jesus asks is this:

Will you serve me regardless of what others are doing???

Will you hear my teachings, and follow them???

Or, are you going to throw up your hands and quit, because of what others are doing?

Or not doing?

We will not be judged by what others are doing or not doing…

We will be judged by what we do… or not do…

We will not be judged according to what we think…

But, according to what Gods word says…

The narrow way, is not the way of the masses…

It is the way of the Master… Jesus.

He came, he taught, he left, he is coming again…

He came the first time as a lamb, to slaughter…

This time, he is coming as a reigning king…

He is coming for a church (bride) without spot or blemish…

If we are not obedient to his word, and covered by his blood…

We will be left out…

Then we will realize what we have missed out on…

If we fail to make preparations… Now…

Time is drawing to a close…

The signs are all around…

Come quickly, Lord Jesus…

We love you, we thank you , and we praise you…

Regardless of what others, think, say or do…

As for me and my house…

WE WILL SERVE THE LORD…

Amblessed,

I’m glad you quoted that scripture because it’s one of my favorites. Millions of people sit comfortably in churches in all their finery thinking that if they put on appearances, that’s good enough to get into heaven.

When I was a believer, I cared very much about the way to heaven and it was clear to me that most of us who sat on pews weren’t going to make it. If Jesus was our example, we were all mostly failures. How many of us lived in poverty, gave all we had, ministered constantly to the less fortunate, and lived in total submission to God? Practically no one.

So if Christianity is true (which I do not believe), I say practically no one is ready and no one is going to make the cut. FEW there be that find it.

Answer #9

So was God aware when he created humankind (for the sake of arguement) that most of his creation would end up getting cooked in a lake of fire? Why even bother?

Answer #10

PLEASE,jesus loves you so do I and he want you to do his will not your will.remember Noah time, and it came to passed that the people perish, he is the potter and can do what ever he want to do with us, he is saying come to him and have life and what are you satying please

Answer #11

Actually, every single generation since the earliest Christian church has believed they were living in the End Times. And still we have people like Pat Robertson and Hal Lindsay making millions of dollars saying the same thing.

Answer #12

No one really knows when he will. I’m saying less than half the population will be prepared… I do know right now if he came I would not be ready. (That’s coming from a Christian too) But anyways back to your topic, nope, I don’t think I would be.

Answer #13

: C. I dont believe in god or jesus and I dont think jesus will come back sorry to say. And if he does what makes you think he will chose now. I mean everyday on the news someone is abused or dies or just ran over. Seriously I dont think he would come back even if he wanted

Answer #14

Eleni, I agree that if we are left to our own devices we don’t even meet our own standards, let alone God’s. From there on, I agree with amblessed - Jesus is God’s answer to our failings. It’s not acceptable to take His sacrifice for granted (‘Jesus has died for me so I’m OK to be as selfish and weak-willed as I ever was’), but it does mean that now we’re striving to serve Jesus, rather than to be perfect in own strength, which is never going to happen.

Answer #15

Yeah, about Noah…it gets me that people make fun of the theory of evolution, but I’m supposed to believe someone built a ship big enough to fit two of every species, and could accomodate all those species for over a month, using 2nd millenium BC technology. But that’s another topic…

Look, I can understand the evangelizing, but the apocalypse stuff is getting a little old.

2Pe 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished :
2Pe 3:8 But, beloved , be not ignorant of this one thing , that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years , and a thousand years as one day .
2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night ; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise , and the elements shall melt with fervent heat , the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Answer #29

This same re Jesus presently sits at the right hand of God:

His first return: At a time known only to the Father, He returns in the clouds to recieve the church (those that are saved) and take them to Heaven with Him:

The rapture is an event that will take place sometime very possibly in the near future. Jesus will come in the air, catch up the Church from the earth, and then return to Heaven with the Church. In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, we are given a clear description of the rapture: “the dead in Christ will rise, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord.”

Here is a dramatization of the event:

http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=7e18e50b58eb7e0c6ccb

This event is also covered in the ‘Left Behind’ book series.

His second return:

The battle of Armageddon is a great, future war that will be fought at Mount Megiddo. This will be the most terrifying and destructive of all wars mankind will experience. The main difference between this and other wars is that the outcome is sure: we know who the winner is! This battle will be fought by men and by spiritual forces. Jesus Christ will return in the midst of this war to prove His power and might. He wins! He will judge the nations of the world and establish His kingdom.

See Revelation, chapter 16, where the preparation for the battle is described in verses 12-16. Read also, chapters 17-20. This “battle” is the final world war and it is more than just a physical war. All of the forces of good and evil will be fighting for power. Jesus wins, and then establishes His reign on earth for one thousand years - a new Heaven, new Earth created.

Note magictink: this answered was also made responding to your question (why do some people think that jesus is going to ressurect again?) - it may or may not have been censored because all answers to it no longer appear.
