When will the mothers mild dry up is there a pill to give?

Mother quite feeding pups 4wks 2days old she did not want to have anything to do with them vet said it was ok to find them homes. Now she has milk still producing what can I do in humans we can get a shot to dry up the milk is that so in pets?

I’m not sure about a pill. You need to keep an eye on her so that she does not get mastitis. Pups must have teeth coming in now so suckling isn’t comfortable to momma. Might want to make her lay down with them and let them feed so that she does not get mastitis. You can reduce her food intake to help slow down milk production, but don’t starve her either. If you’ve started to feed the pups dog food, make sure that the mother is not eating it with them so that she doesn’t eat it all herself. You may need to soften up the food that they eat until their teeth are strong enough to eat dry dog food.
