worms in mother dog

my mother dog is still nursing can I give her wormer?

Answer #1

yeah you can give it 2 mother the pups are gonna need 2 be wormed anyway.. so do it sooner rather than l8r kk??

Answer #2

No I would not just deworm the mother without calling a vet and finding out what dewomer would be the safest, and not all dewormers treat all the parasites in the stool. What you need to do is take a stool sample to the vet and let them do a stool check to find out what kind of parasites she has, then if her stool is postive find out what you can treat her with because she is still nursing This is very important. and the pups should also be seen and treated by a vet, I always took my pups into work with me ( I work for a vet) at 3, 6, and 8 weeks to be dewormed. stools were always negitive

Answer #3

all pups are born with worms … just a fact of nature .. you will have to worm all the pups anyways … best to ask a vet this question.
