My two year old will tell me when he goes pee in his pull up but when he poops I ask him and he screams no and gets mad. Anyone know why he is mad and how I can get him into pottying. Ihave tried everything suggested to mankind!! PLEASE HELP ME POTTY TRAIN!!!

Answer #1

Don’t push him too hard. Boys do not potty train as quickly as girls. They CAN be potty-trained as early as 2 years of age, but there are some studies which indicate early potty training can lead to adult diseases, many years later.

My boy just refused to potty-train until he was almost 4 years old. We would joke about whether he would need to start school wearing diapers. However, one day, he got tired of pooping in his pants, and magically started using the toilet.

Of course, from the age of two, we showed him how to use the toilet, and used positive encouragement when he DID happen to use the toilet. My wife was SO frustrated with him, of course she was home with him during the day.

Eventually, he’ll figure out the reasons to use the toilet – just please do NOT push him or say anything negative about wearing a diaper. Just love him, and he’ll come around.

By the way, my daughter was using the toilet at age 2, no problems. Boys are just slower to figure out some things.

Boys are usually slower than girls at this. Chill out, be calm and relaxed, it will make him the same way. Don’t act like it’s driving you crazy. Reward system! it’ll happen soon.
