Who were the Sons of Liberty?

Who were the sons of liberty, what was their purpose, and what affect did it have on the American Revolution?

Answer #1

Were a group of men who strongly opposed the British Regime, They were fiercly against to the point of violence on such things as British symbolism , laws and British authority, They were largely known for staging huge public displays of protest , usually trying to encite riots on behalf of Americans who they felt were oppressed by the British.

Answer #2

^^^Text book answer. Nicely put.

If I might add tho, Sam and John Adams were both apart of it, in fact, Sam Adams was the leader so-to-speak of the Sons of Liberty. Some acts you might recognize as The Boston Tea Party, where as a bunch of Sons dressed up like Native Americans, snuck aboard a merchant ship, and tossed overboard an entire shipment of genuine(shtty I might add…English dont know tea…) English Tea into the Boston Harbor. This was to oppose the newly adopted Tea Tax.

Hope I helped
