What large American internet company got Chinese people jailed?

After nuking completely the troll that was here bagging on us, AND promoting Yahoo, I thought I should throw this one out there. Of the large (Myspace, Google, facebook, Yahoo, MSN, Amazon) US internet companies, which one got not one, but two people jailed in China after handing their information over to the local authorities?

Answer: Yahoo.

Facebook has only put one guy in jail, so far (in Morocco…). Google, MSN, MySpace and Amazon have yet to put anybody in jail that I’m aware of.

Do you think it’s right, or wrong, to chase money so hard that you ruin people’s lives?

I have no idea what their privacy policies are, but I would’ve thought that it would be like most companies - ‘your private information is safe with us, and will only be shared with third parties WITH YOUR PERMISSION.’

Hence, yeah, I think it’s wrong, it’s a major privacy breach.
