How do I cancel internet and email on my blackberry?

Okay so.. I just got a new cell phone last month in october. I decided to get a pink blackberry because I thought it was cute. Not knowing you HAD to have broadband or internet or whatever. I dont know all the stuff about that so.. and I ordered it online instead of having to deal with people at the store. And I thought to myself, well if I have a blackberry, I might as well try out the internet and email with it for a bit. Then I thought, well if it turns out I dont like it.. Ill just cancel the internet and email and just use it normally for calling and txting. And well now I was looking up stuff about that and had seen somewhere where someone like me wanted to do the same thing, cancel internet and email on their blackberry and just use it to call and txt people. But it had said this person tried to do that but the phone company said they couldnt. That you have to have internet on your blackberry. Well, it went something like that anyhow. So…all in all I was wondering can a person really do that or if not, is it possible I could take my phone in, cancel the internet and email and just do a phone swap without paying anything? Btw my phone was free with a 2yr contract if that has anything to do with it. lol. But yeah.. anyone know what I could do? Cause I really cant afford to waste my money on something I honestly dont need. I thought itd be nice to have it on there but I’ve come to realize I honestly dont need that..but the phone is pretty cute. (:
