I saw one at the tanning place and I have no idea what it is!! Explain!!
The idea started in very polluted cites like Beijing and Tokyo where you could step inside, relax, and breathe actual air for a few minutes. When it spread to North America and Europe, the idea had morphed into a more recreational use, where you an breathe a variety of different scents. There are some people that say breathing pure (or purer, anyway) oxygen has a variety of health benefits, under that time-tested scientific adage ''If some if good, a lot MUST be better, right?''
The problem is that when regular air enters the lungs, the blood becomes saturated with oxygen at around 98% maximum capacity, so breathing pure oxygen does -- wait for it -- absolutely nothing beneficial.
