What does the bible say about women pursuing relationships?

What does the bible say about women pursuing relationships with men? I know it says that a man who finds a wife finds a good thing…so does that mean he is the one who should do the finding??

Answer #1

I don’t think that you should read that too literally. In those days the marriages were much more arranged and so it would be ‘the man finding a wife’ or even his parents finding a wife for him. But nowadays the situation is different. In my opinion a good Christian will put Jesus first and just make sure that relationships, or looking for a relationship, are under His control.

funadvice made some good points.. But there is somethings this that should be carefully looked at about the creation of mankind..

  1. Adam did not look for a wife. Adam didn’t know that it would be better for him to have one. But it was God who looked at Adam and said, “It is not good for man to be alone.” Marrage was Gods idea. Woman was God’s blessing for man. It wasn’t that man knew that he would be better off with her. It was God who designed her for him. So when a man is quick to go and find a woman, you gotta ask why? What is he really looking for. I submit to you, Most men have no idea why God made women.

  2. God looked all over the earth bringing every animal to find a helper suitable. This is when Adam was naming everything. Adam still didn’t know what God was looking for. He had no idea weather a turtle or a house was a suitable partner. Because he didn’t know what a suitable partner was. He probably got on the horse and thought, this is it. But God said, nope, I have a better plan. So we can see in Genesis, it was not Adam at all who knew what he needed. Nor did he know he needed one. But God was the one who looked for the perfect one to be with Adam.

  3. So what was Eve made for anyway? Well, Adam had some jobs from God. First he was to rule over the whole earth. God put Adam in charge over the whole earth. Why? To take care of it. Take care of the garden. So what does a suitable helper mean? She was a helper designed to help him fulfill his mission on earth. She was similar to Adam, but played a different role. Adam and her together would make a family unit. Marriage was the institution for making many family units. Eve would help Adam by taking care of man kind. Adam would take care of the earth. Eve would help Adam serve his mission. So we can see, Adam didn’t know he needed this, but God choose Eve to take care of mankind creating many family units for Gods purpose of man taking care of his creation. This is in a perfect world. But what happened? Sin…

  4. The curses. For man, the curse was, instead of taking care of the garden and instead of ruling and reigning, not man would work hard to live on the earth and he would work hard to survive and seek bread. Before, man was like God, being invincible and ruling on the earth, but after word, he struggles to stay alive and instead of ruling, he seeks for bread. For women, the curse is, she would desire a husbands love and her husband would only rule over her. Also, family was now painful for her. Birth and raising children. These are all curses. Not blessings. Let me explain. Before, Eve’s desire was love from God and she had it freely. So she loved Adam with no problem. Her life was complete with Adam and God. Now she doesn’t know God nor does she desire love from God but first from Adam. She wants the eternal love she used to get from God, from Adam. But the problem is Adam looks like God, but he could never love her like God. So she will always remain thirsty for the love from Adam but she will not find it in sinful man. Also, man is not interested in loving woman the way women love men. Man’s desire is for success. A woman to a man is an object of success. Different concept than what the woman needs. So what the women needs is Jesus who brakes the curse. The man also need Jesus who brakes the curse.

  5. The cure. Man and women needs mission, A reason for living. In the garden, Man served Gods perfect mission and his life was pleasing to God. Woman help man complete his mission in her role and she lived pleasing in Gods sight. They where naked, meaning, there was nothing to hide. They where one and the same in everything. They shared life together. Man loved woman so much, he wrote a love poem to the woman saying, this is bone of my bone and this is flesh of my flesh. They where unified in life purpose, life direction, they lived the same life together in the garden with God, That’s why he said, he saw what he had made and he said it was very good. But now Adam and Eve where kicked out of the garden. Because they choose to go there own way, they lost their mission. They where in the land of nod (wandering). They turned into ruthless wanderers with no real purpose but to try to find something to do. So they follow after so many different things in the world. They cannot live as they where created to live because of sin. But Jesus came so that we can have the heavenly life in the garden once again. We can regain our image through Jesus Christ. We can be united again with the same life purpose and direction. The way of the cross.

  6. So now when we go this way of the cross, we should pursue the word our father gave us to do which is taking care of the earth once again by bringing the gospel to the ends of the earth. We are harvesters. God hired us to do his vineyard work and he leads us and shows us how. Life once again in the garden. While we are working in his vineyard, God provides for us our helper or our husband.

  7. So if your want to live that kind of garden of eden life, pursue Gods work and he will give you the desires of your heart. Then when you do have a husband. Your heart will be filled with perfect love already and when you husband shows you love, you will truly appreciate it, and he will be happy to rain down more and more love on such a good wife that doesn’t even lack in love.. =) I hope this helps you some what.
