*Your mom is wrong…the Bible does not mention such a thing. What I believe your mom is alluding to is the “Antichrist.” The word “Antichrist” is mentioned in several places in the Bible: (1) In [1 John 2:18]…the Apostle John speaks about the “spirit of Antichrist” [1 John 4:3] which refers to demonic forces behind antichristian teaching and activity; (2) the great coming ANTICHRIST [Revelations 13:1-10]; and (3) many antichrists present and active in his time and throughout Church history.

The ones of whom John is here speaking belonged to the visible church but were NOT believers [1 John 2:19]. They denied the reality of the Incarnation of Christ and His relationship to the Father [1 John 2:21-23; and 2 John 7].

NOTES: The Antichrist

The ANTICHRIST (also called “the man of sin”…2 Thessalonians 2:3)…is the SAME person mentioned in [Revelation 6:2;13:1;14:9, 11;15:2;16:2;17:3, 13;19:20;20:10]

Many emperors of Rome deified themselves…but ANTICHRIST will far outstrip all of his predecessors in his blasphemous ways. There will be ten kings (world leaders) who will give their power and authority to the ANTICHRIST [Revelation 17:12-13].

ANTICHRIST will receive a deadly wound and will be miraculously healed by Satan…this restoration to life will be an IMITATION of the RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ…and the world “will wonder after the beast” (I.e., ANTICHRIST)…and the whole world (I.e., all of those on the earth who have REJECTED Jesus Christ and whose names are NOT written in the Book of Life…Revelation 13:8) will WORSHIP the ANTICHRIST…and he (ANTICHRIST) will enjoy UNRESTRAINED power for forty-two months (I.e., 3-1/2 years) of the 7 year Tribulation period.

At His SECOND COMING the Lord Jesus Christ will RETURN as KING of KING and LORD of LORDS and will DESTROY the ANTICHRIST and throw him into the Lake of Fire…with ALL of his followers (those who have REJECTED Jesus as Saviour)…there is NO ESCAPE.
