What does the bible say about the fear of God?

Are we as Christians… supposed to fear… God? If so, what does that mean?

Answer #1

Fearing God is the reverence to Him. Revering Him as Holy, True, Righteous, Just, Immutable, His Glory is too bright to look upon, that He is just plain good. Although, He is not safe. Only covered by the blood of Jesus are we acceptable to come boldly before His throne of grace and ask His will to be done. Working out our salvation with fear and trembling is the wisdom of knowing He will work through us in every situation we have, good or bad, drawing us ever closer to Him as His Holy Spirit guides us. And, it is not about us!
