What do Christians think of science?

what do christians think of evolution and big bang do you still believan the bible

Answer #1

“I absolutely 100% believe the bible. “ “I also believe that there is a process of evolution, in some things. “

How do you reconcile this? If the bible is 100% true, then how can there be any type of evolution?

“I do not believe my grandaddy was a toad frog.

Nor a gold fish. “

Neither do I. I don’t know any one who does. But there is no doubt the we evolved from lower primates, and they evolved from even earlier mamals, and they eveolved from reptiles, and they evolved from amphibians, and they eveolved from fish. Anyone who denies this is living in a fantasy world.

“Or a swan, even though I think they are very beautiful.”

No, we never evolved from swans. Birds and mamals went there own way after reptiles.

“I believe when the truth comes out, the big bang, will prove the bible to be true. “

I beleive you wouldn’t accept the truth, even if it slapped you upside the head.

“Science is a process by which man proves certain things.”

And religion is a process by which man deceives himself into beliving in the supernatural.

“Anythat that man touches by himself, without the spirit of God, can be flawed.”

Touches by himself? Is that a sin?

“When Mount Saint Helens erupted in Washington, scientists said that they found evidence that they had previously thought took thousands of years to bring about, that came into existance in just a few years. “

And what exactly does that prove? That scientists don’t understand everything yet? If that is what you mean, it is probably the most accurate statement you have ever made. It proves nothing about the existance fo the sky guy.

“God will prove himself, he is just not ready to do so yet.”

He sounds like a spoiled lilttle child.

“For now, we have the evidence all around us. “

Evidence? That is pretty funny coming from you.

“He considers that enough.”

That’s because he is a cruel heartless bastard, that is if he exists.

Answer #2

I absolutely believe evolution exists 100%

No granddaddy didn’t evolve from a toad frog, a gold fish, or swan…that’s ridiculous

BUT we have evolved over MILLIONS of years to become what we are today

Christians believe the Earth is not even 10,000 years old…that’s ridiculous

Australian Aboriginals have been in Australia for over 40,000 years, they never noticed an Ark nor some guy traveling the continent collecting 2 of every species, he would have been here for a looong time, and would have probably died due a bite from one of our friendly critters.

For now, the evidence of EVOLUTION is all around us.

Just one example is the fact that viruses evolve to become immune to our medicines. And all the fossil evidence dating back MILLIONS of years…

Worship the planet!! If there is a higher being that created it, I think they’d appreciate it

I consider that to be enough

Answer #3

Certainly things evolve from their original state of creation by God - a big bang by itself results in chaos, not order.

Answer #4

good question. I’m a protestant, but I interpret the bible with some skepticism (maybe this does not make me christian). I believe in the big bang theory and evolution and what not. I don’t understand how some people deny it when there are thousands of fossil records and other evidence supporting evolution. I believe aspects of the story of christ and god, but science makes sense too.

Answer #5

and by the way noah didnt gather the animals they allcame to him and we do not believe that the earth is only 10,000 years old thats retarded. the worlds been here for millions of years

Answer #6

Answer #7

most christians are christians because they don’t understand or deny how science explains things. how can you deny when there is evidence??

Answer #9

I am catholic and I think science and religion shouldnt be compared. I believe in both things though…I mean…I dont think it makes me less catholic if I believe in science, I still believe there is a god, and I think we all just need something 2 hold on 2 when we are going through rough times.

now when it comes to science cloning humans and now how dey are starting 2 mess with dna and everything, dats just wrong. dey are messing with nature, and your not supposed 2 do that…but yeah, I think both have their rights and wrongs…

Answer #10

I support the big bang theory because I believe it is the way science is able to interpret creation. I do know that the original word that was translated to “Day” actually meant period of time. I also believe in certain kinds of evolution, though some I don’t feel have enough backing scientifically to prove anything. (All my own opinion here) but what I know is that I read the bible and I personally see truth.

Answer #11

Modern science disproves intelligent design more and more. and creation? more like formation.
