How much water should an average person drink daily?

So I drink a 1L bottle of water throughout the day at school, have some random water breaks throughout school, and water breaks during workouts/practice/games. So in total I’d say I drink about 1.5-2 liters a day…is that enough?

Answer #1

well, when they say “8 cups of water a day” they refer to water in food as well as water in drinks. So really, as long as you eat balanced meals you should be hitting that mark easily.

Answer #2

From what i’ve learned in Science class, that’s around 8-10 glasses of water a day…

Answer #3

they recommend 64 fl oz. of water per day.

Answer #4

The general recommendation is eight 8oz. glasses of water a day. However, how much water a person should drink daily depends on several factors. Therefore, it may be a good idea to ask your doctor how much water he/she recommends you drink a day, based on your health, activeness, age, etc…

Answer #5

The 8-10 Glasses of water a day is derived from the fact that an average human produces at least 30cc of urine per hour, and a lot of insensible loss (sweat, tears, etc.) in a sedentary (not so active) lifestyle.

But obviously, more work means more sweat. and more sweat means more water requirements. So the water requirements’ base is around 8-10 glasses per day, but could go more than that if the need rises.

Answer #6

10 glasses
