How to get into the habit of drinking water?

How can I get into the habit of drinking water daily?

I RARELY drink water unless its like the only thing to drink at the moment for whatever reason :s… I do not drink soda but I do drink juice like apple, orange, white grape etc. & that’s the only thing I drink! I don’t like to drink water because it has no flavor lol! I’ve tried many times to drink water daily but its never last pass a week! I’ve even tried putting lemon in the water to give it some flavor but that didn’t help much! I’m surprised I’m not super dehydrated…. :/ I really want to start eating healthy etc. I know that if I can kick this bad habit then I’ll have no problems on my journey to a healthier me! :)

Hi,

Nice question. Hey dear you have to keep it as a habit. In the morning, before brushing, try to drink a glass of warm water, it helps a lot and improve your constipation.

Tries to make drinking water after an hour or two as your hobby. Then only you use to of it.

??? Water does have a flavor. Different waters taste differently Did you never notice? If you go to another municipality, the tap water will taste different. Even in another house, due to different tube materials, the water can have a different taste. Different brands of bottled waters also taste differently. Your gustative nerve was overthrown by strong, possibly artificial aromas. ;-P

Do you like thinned juices? That would solve half of the problem. Just fill half your glass with water and then add half a glass of orange/apple/grape juice.

Yes I know it has flavor… but it still doesn’t taste good lol!

I’ve tried tap water (my state has hard water… I think that’s why it tastes so horrible? maybe I’m wrong… it tastes like dish water or something… very horrible!), bottled water etc. (I’ve tried Dasani, Aquafina, Evian, Arrowhead, Smartwater etc. the only one that tastes OK is arrowhead to me) & none of them really taste great to me… However! well/fountain water tastes very good but I don’t have a well… sadly nor do I have the money to create one… :(

I’ll try your suggestion on thinned juices :D I never thought of that Thanks!

It was real hard for me to start drinking water too, after I’ve been so use to drinking soda. & the two don’t compare in taste, I know!! But I had to start not even buying soda to not get tempted, and after a few weeks I craved water whne I was thursty. Maybe try vitamin water? those taste good & good for you. Flavored water? I like lemon.

Hardness (calcium and magnesium) and other minerals in the water give it flavor. Different water sources and treatment processess will affect how it tastes. Softened water won’t have much if any flavor. Notice on the label of many bottled water brands it will read “enhanced with minerals for taste” or a similar statement.

well it really depends for me it was a no brainer…my house nev drank water…when someone was thirsty it was either some coke or some juice never water…til i turned 15 and there are those cute artificial syrups you can get at the store in all sorts of flavor…so I started out putting a bit in a pitcher added some ice & filled it up with water…that got me off the carbonated soda’s and onto the flavored water…after a while I started putting in too much of the syrup making me only want water to stop my thirst. So, I stopped drinking it & simply started drinking water. I noticed that if it was cold not at room temp then I enjoyed it more…if you like here is an idea that we do at home… Take a pitcher…crush some fresh mint leaves…add some fresh lemon juice with the bits in it…add some crushed ice…and stir! it is so good! If you need it sweet use some lemon flav country time mix.
