What are different types/ symptoms of OCD ( Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)?

Answer #1

Obsessive–compulsive personality disorder (OCPD) is a personality disorder which is characterized by a pervasive pattern of preoccupation with orderliness, perfectionism, and mental and interpersonal control at the expense of flexibility, openness, and efficiency.[1] People with OCPD may feel anxious when they perceive that things are not right. This can lead to routines and rules for ways of doing things, whether it be for themselves or their families The primary symptoms of OCPD are a preoccupation with details, rules, lists, order, organization, and schedules; being very rigid and inflexible in their beliefs; showing perfectionism that interferes with completing a task; excessive focus on being productive with their time; being very conscientious; having inflexible morality, ethics, or values; hoarding items that may no longer have value; and a reluctance to trust a work assignment or task to someone else for fear that their standards will not be met

Well if you are being really general, then I guess you could say there is obsessive cleaning, obsessive, counting, obsessive touching, habits that have grown out of the ‘habitual’ stage into more a state of obsession…. OCD will be different for everyone diagnosed. It’s often inexplainable and your tendencies will never have a reason for being like they are. It can be frustrating, but there aren’t really any specific ways to peg ‘types’ of OCD. There are too many wild variables.
