We tried every thing and he just keeps crying so at this point thats all we can do! or is this bad? we always let him cry to sleep and he usally sleeps after 10 mins but i dont know if it cruel to do it when he has a cold.?

Answer #1

If he has a cold it may help to check on him from time to time just to make sure he is ok, make sure he is comfortable and warm and just keep checkin on him from time to time, if he keeps crying maybe pick him up

Answer #2

Well if you can’t cheer him up then theres not much you can do. Why does he cry himself to sleep every night though? O.o

Answer #3

Maybe you should just check on him every maybe hour or two. Just to make sure he’s still like breathing ;) Maybe pick him up or sing to him maybe? That calms kids down (usually). Hope I helped and I hope he feels better ;)

Answer #4

Once a child is at an age where he can communicate if something is really wrong instead of just crying, using the cry it out method is okay.

As long as you stay within hearing distance and check on him occasionally, there isn’t much else you can do.

My son will be 3 in July and at times will throw a fit at bedtime and cry. I tell him calmly that it is bedtime and he has to stay in bed until the sun comes up and its morning. He cries and protest at first, but withing minutes gives up when he realizes it isn’t going to work.

Babies like to be picked up by a parent or person theyre familiar with at night and they get scared if they dont so they cry. And they have to learn to sleep on their on so parents let them cry to sleep.

Answer #8

Personaly i’ve been in the same situation and let the (1year old) child cry himself to sleep; although, i did check on him after like 15 minutes. He was fine, when you cry your snott runs; meanwhile, i was scared though at the time he’d choke on snott. He was fine though, and now a happy 4 year old :)

Answer #9

Just check on him but he can cry himself to sleep it’s like children let them pout or shout till they calm down.

Answer #10

Having a baby cry over long period of time is not good. it may cause cramp to their belly muscle, and will hurt them even more. Ask them where the pain is that cause them crying. Comforting them is the best way to take them to bed.

Answer #11

He’s sick … he needs comfort, and you’re denying him that. It’s one thing to let him cry until he falls asleep when he’s healthy, but doing so when he’s sick is just mean. Just imagine yourself in his place … if you felt awful, and didn’t know why, wouldn’t you want someone to hold you and make you feel a little better. There’s a time to be a “mother”, and there’s a time to be a “mommy” … don’t leave him to suffer alone.

Answer #12

ys but have one of they video monitors in his room to make sure he’s okay :)
