This might sound stupid...

Im just wondering… If the United states Were trying to Help the homeless and try to give them better rights etc. Then why are they forcloseing all these homes making more people homeless? I do understand that their are people who cant afford the home they are in, but why dosen’t the goverment try a plan to help them get the money? I know a family whose home forclosed bcs they owed a penny. A penny C’mon Man whats up with this?

Answer #1

The question is stupid. Homeless CITIZENS have the same rights as you, just a fact of their priveliges.

Answer #2

There are bills going thru Congress right now, to help people out who “over-bought” during this latest fiasco…one is a 40 year loan, I think at 5.5 or 6% fixed interest, with a balloon at the end of 40 years to pay it off…it there is still a balance.

It’s not a stupid question :) It’s a bright one actually. The answer is not that simple I fear. We, as humans, have created rules in the past based on what we knew. We might need to work on those ideas I think.

You have good thoughts for someone your age, keep it up :)

Answer #4

* I know a family whose home forclosed bcs they owed a penny.

That is not true. The government would take a home for a penny of unpaid taxes, but a mortgage company would not forclose for that.

Answer #5

I think part of the reason the government doesn’t help out is because a lot of the people whose houses are getting forclosed owe taxes just because they’re too lazy to actually get up, get a job, make money, and pay the taxes. I’m sure that there are also people who just think that they’re better than everyone else and that they shouldn’t have to pay taxes. The bad thing about that is that if the government sees that most people do that, they will assume that everyone is in the same situation, so the one’s that are actually trying but just can’t come up with the money just end up getting shafted, which doesn’t help anything.

Answer #6

well, people tend to be greedy and money-hungry so the less money they need to spend, the better for them, and the more they can spend on things that they find are important usually things with thousands of people who want them as well also because they might want to be looking to get more money from people overseas who want to work there, who work for less, which means they get more

Answer #7

Precisely. It should be everyone’s right to at least have a decent shelter over their heads. Same for food and water

At the same time, “but why dosen’t the goverment try a plan to help them get the money?” I believe there are employment programs and the like out there set up by government-linked organizations. They dont seem to be doing enough though…and honestly, its not that easy. There is always a limited number of jobs available. Plus, the government has to spend on other stuff as well (a significant portion of which are unnecessary)

Answer #8

The question is not at all stupid.

What is really stupid, is that a person your age can see through all the red tape to the core of a problem… and people in authority, much older than that…cannot.

There is a really old saying that begins with the sentence,
“Out of the mouth of babes…”

If you can, don’t ever loose your insight that you have now, for what you can see, is the truth.
