This might be stupid, but is it illegal to convert videos from youtube to my mp3, mp4, powerpoint, etc.?

No, not illegal.

It depends on if it’s a commercial video, or not, or if the usage is commercial (or not), etc, etc.

If I was going to do that, I’d probably contact the person that uploaded the video to be certain…example: our videos we’ve done on youtube, I would not allow such usage unless it was educational, commercial usage, I wouldn’t allow.

However, I’m sure other publishers feel differently.

Ah…also, this would be under “copyright law” which is federal, not state laws, as copyright is a national / federal legal issue, not state specific.
