Who thinks that bullying is becoming a really big problem today in schools, work, computer, etc...?

It is horrible and I don’t like them one bit. once I went to camp when I was little and this girl bullied me for the whole week

it always has been a problem, but i do agree its happening way more often. I also think kids are taking everything way too personal, someone telling you you’re fat or ugly is NO reason to kill yourself. I can see why some insults can add up and result in su!cide. People will be people, we criticize and we judge, but we cant go killing ourselves every time it happens, we have to man up and take it. I also think schools should do more to help stop bullies, a simple detention is NOT going to help, trust me. We just cant take everything to heart. i also think that the kids being bullied should tell an adult RIGHT away and not wait until they cant take it anymore.

It is really hard to know whether we simply hear about it more or if it is actually occurring more. The news today is way more sensationalized than it was 30 years ago. Not to mention the internet does make it a lot easier for information to spread. Who knows whether the sui.cide rates have increased (and they have gotten worse) because of bullying, or if there is a mediating factor. And ‘someone telling you you’re fat or ugly is NO reason to kill yourself’. People do not kill themselves because one person insulted them on one day.

definitely over the internet. We all have more to compete for these days. (money, clothes, social status etc) Those things are ‘important’ to everybody. Also it’s easy to bully over the computer. There’s no confrontation and you have time to think of things to say (as opposed to being directly in front of somebody).

It is….but at least now people are paying attention to it. I think that many adults thought it was the same old stuff we experienced in school….but it’s gone WAY beyond what it was 20 or 30 years ago…

I think people are just more open about it then it was before, that combined with a huge increase in population i.e. more people are available as bullies and to get bullies will make it seem like there are more kids being bullied.

i agree with u, and also when i was in school the term “bully” was really never used, it really doesn’t seem that there is many bullies anymore, just ppl need to not take stuff too seriously

It’s not always about telling an adult. Kids need to learn to stick together and speak up when they see that someone near by is being bullied.

well….bullying i guess it never stops but as long as i dont do anything to hurt people i dont care how people talk about me or bully me because one day we may become friends with a person who used to bully us we all grow up and should take new steps beside We are all connected to each other who knows what may happen tomorrow?.. and want it or not you cant make everybody like you its the eternal rule…getting angry and hurting ourselves will get us nowhere beside we cant defend ourselves by getting angry at those who bully us ,Anger is a sign of Weakness and nothing else.
