The council wants to destroy my dog

I have a Golden labrador, family dog, placid doesn’t eat till its told kinda dog, She bit a smaller dog yesterday, the owner is trying to say my dog is vicious looking for blood kinda dog, how can I prove that my dog didn’t instigate the fight and that her dog shouldn’t have been on my property in the first place. My baby is a socialable animal that goes to the doggy park, beach, walks to school with the kids and all of that… I need help…some-one must have some good advise…I have recently contemplated on hiding the dog away when the ranger comes…good idea ???

I would just explain the dog was protecting its property and its family, when another dog threatened it by going on your property.

Dogs are VERY protective creatures, by nature, and this is something that even the most calm dog could do when feeling threatened.

Before you try to “explain” anything…find an Obedience trainer and ask them evaluate your dog…from what you say, she’s just fine with other dogs…maybe she’s territorial with strange dogs, when in her OWN yard, but obviously, she is not when mixing with other dogs on neutral territory. You’ll do yourself a favor by having a “professional’s” evaluation in hand, then trying to explain to law enforcement yourself…Defending your dog is a natural reaction…but when you’re looking at a judge, he want facts…A written evaluation…from someone IN THE KNOW…will carry a lot weight.
