How do you know when fats in foods are healthy?

ok so your advice help me a lot. I already use splenda for myself. I’ve cut drinking coffee, and I’ve just recently started to eat more fruit.

but how do you know when the fats in foods are healthy??

and are dried bananas good for? b/c I bought some today but then I looked on the nutrition label and it said that for 20 pieces there was like 10 grams of fat…I figured that kinda defeats the purpose of eating them.

Hey! Well the best fats are monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats. I have been using splenda for years and years, and so does my dad (he WAS diabetic, but not anymore because he lost weight), and have never had any problems with my weight. Splenda doesn’t contain aspartame (which has proven to be unhealthy). As for dried bananas, look at the ingredient list. Are there a LOT of ingredients? Or is the majority of ingredients the fruit. For example is there “sugar, oil, salt” etc? If so, that may not be the right choice for you. Try dried cranberries/cherries/apples because those are naturally delicious dried, and nothing has to be added to them for them to taste good. I eat Welch’s dried fruits, they come in resealable bags, Delicious! Try eating the bananas fresh maybe? Bananas are high in potassium, which is a really important electrolyte in our body and fiber which is important for our colon. However, its a pretty heavy fruit, rich in energy, so probably no more than one a day. Good for you for making a healthy change. :)

Oh, maybe not. I’m sorry.

Just wanted to say something about Splenda. Splenda is something I do not recommend. Researchers have found that Fake Sugars with no Calories, can actually prevent you from maintaining or Losing Weight. This is because the body may get confused about the differences between the fake stuff and real sugar. It is tricked, your body may think Splenda and Sugar are the same thing. Thus, it can add up to actual calories.

  1. That’s a Good question. Well this won’t help a lot, but you know Bad fats like Doughnuts and Candy Bars aren’t good right? And they’re loaded. Say like celery has 5 grams of fat for 5 sticks. (Which it doesn’t) You know it’s good fat because it’s a Vegetable. This was a bad example though so don’t listen to this. However, I do know Peanut Butter is a good Fat. (:

  2. No, no, no, no, no. Banana Chips are not good for you. Of course they sound good. “Dried Bananas”? Sounds like a piece of Banana that’s dry right? It’s sugary, not so fattening, but sugar adds up right? My dad has diabeties and almost had some. But no, this is a Product that people think are good. The trick is, the producers of the product will know that people think it’s healthy because of the fruit. but they are loaded in Sugar AND calories.
