How good is swimming as an exercise?

I used to really enjoy swimming but didn’t feel comfortable when going but now I am comfortable. So is swimming a good exercise to do and would it help tone my body up as well? I’m not overweight, I just need some toning. Thank you.

I’ve heard it’s excellent as an exercise, when you think about it, you’re working out your entire body.

I think I heard it’s not good for fat-burning (like running would be) but it is good.

swimming is like the best exercise. because it works the entire body out and the water is a natural resistance against your body. so you have to push past it. it is the “simplest” exercise, but very effective.

It’s brilliant for toners. You can just look at professional swimmers to get an idea of what it does for you. A big benefit of swimming is also that injuries are non-existent.

Swimming is one of the best, safest ways to exercise. Swimming is very good on your joints, and bones and this is what makes it wonderful. Unlike running or lifting weights which can eventually tear down or harm your joints and bones. Because your body is weightless in water, its not only safe but fun and gives you a good workout. Thats why you see a lot of older people swimming and exercising in the pool, they are at risk for more problems and therefore are wise to do their exercises in the water.
