Do you have to feed snakes live mice?

DONT fed it ive mice b/c the snake can get hurt by swallowing it.. either by the mouse sratching or bitting it.. you can buy them live and then fresh mice is always best.. take the tail and wack it ontop of a table.. and then give it to your snake. i know this sounds cruel.. but the mic are fresh.. and they are not alive. that is the best way to go.

You can get dead “pinkies” at the pet store, but you still have to wiggle it around to make it look alive so that your snake will eat it. After one or two of these frustrating little feedings you will more likely just go get the living mice and let the snake do his own thing. It is a snake, and it does want live mice to eat.

ok,heres the thing. I feed my snakes live mice and people are freaking out and said its cruel to display dead or live rats for the snake to eat in public viewing.then what shud I feed it? even dead also cannot feed. ask me to give alternate snake food,like what we give to hamsters.

You have to feed them mice, but they don’t have to be alive. The feeder mice are all killed painlessly, they are put in a gas chamber and fall asleep then… Well you know what. There is something you can get at your local pet stores that is just meat, but the snakes like actual mice better, mice are cheaper too.
