Is there such thing as being too serious about serving God?

You mean “too” serious? No, some people take religion more serious than others. They do and dedicate everything to God, like a nun or priest would do. They believe their life is in God’s hand.

Yes, there is such a thing as being “too” serious and it’s called being a radical or extremist. However the forms and interpretations of taking things extremely varies even within it’s own basis.

But either way, radicals are usually a very small amount of people and happened to be detested by the majority for their radical views.

As long as they don’t insult other people or try to push their religion on people, then I think it’s fine.

as long as it does not start wars then there is no such thing as too serious.

There is quite a large difference between taking your religion serious and being an extremist. :D

God wants us to enjoy our life and he understands all of our struggles as well as our different personalities and levels of faith. The key to understanding religion and how it affects people, is to study and learn about it. That takes time and interest. As far as being “too serious”, that is up to each person to be at the level of religion that they want to be. Thank God for religious freedom.
