Why is salt better and more "healthy" when added during cooking rather than after?
Well….I was was told that adding salt whilst cooking a dish is better for you than adding it afterwards, if so, Why?
Who on earth told you that? Salt is salt - whether it’s added before or after, it’s still salt and still as unhealthy. The only possible reason I can see for this argument is that you tend to use less salt on your food after it’s cooked, and use it more liberally while cooking.
they say potassium chloride is better as we already have too much sodium in us
yeah and i lke how people ‘think’ that toast is healthier than bread lol..its bread..no matter if its toasted or not..haha..people crack me up sometimes..
Dietitians usually recommend the opposite. Cooking without salt then using just enough to make it palatable when eating. The theory here is that salt that is cooked into food is diluted while salt sprinkled on the surface of food will be in full contact with the taste buds.

i don’t think its a matter of when you add salt, but how much salt there is. most foods have some salt in them, if you are adding salt after its cooked then the total amount of salt will be higher. in the end it’s adding extra salt to your food that’s unhealthy.

do u mean it like, if u add it whilst cooking dilutes the saltiness and thus have a chance of adding more to ur food after wards? So if u add it at the end we are actually using less thus making more “healthy”?
Yep, that’s the theory. I like salty food so I probably eat way more than I should either way though.
Salt is def not healthy, you need a certain amount… but things with lots of sodium is not good.
i read ur daily intake of salt should be 2grams maximum. not even a teaspoon lol
