How do your train your puppy to sit?

I know that you must train your your dog from an early stage, so how will I train it to sit?

Answer #1

Just push on thr hind end and say sit, push down just a little till he sits, and when he does say good boy and maybe offer a treat, the more u do it the faster he will learn, do it in like 5 minutes at a time till he’s doin it on his own when u say sit

Answer #2

Use treats at first, this will make the puppy think, ‘I want a treat so I will sit.’ Then, eventually after a couple of months or so, after he is well trained without the treats, try getting him to sit without the treats. Make sure when you tell him to sit, though, that you say it clearly for him to hear your command.

Answer #3

here is the most popular and effective method:

Hover a treat above your dog’s head (to high for the puppy to reach) and clearly say “sit”. Keep hovering the treat and eventually the puppy, by nature, should sit. As soon as it sits, give it the treat. Keep repeating this daily and your puppy eventually will learn to sit when you say “sit”.

Patience is the key. Hope I helped(:

Answer #4

This is the method I’d use….you can step close to the pup, also…with treat in front, and slightly over his head….he will automatically sit on his own. You say “SIT” the second his butt hits the floor…hand over treat and say “Gooooooood pupppyyy”.. :)

Answer #5

Step 1.Put pressure on his head and try to bend his hind limbs, this will get you the exact position you want him to be

Step 2.Stroke his head lightly as he completes the first step.

Step 3.Offer him a treat

Step 4.Embrace him with sweet sounding expressions and terms like: “good boy”

   or

“good puppy”

Step 5.Repeat the above steps for a month or two.

Step 6.Celebrate your success.
