Polygamy why share ?

why would the first wife allow his husband to marry a second or third? whats in it for her (the second or third wives) ? Why would a women marry a man that already has a wife and kids?

Answer #1

A polygmist doesn’t view marriage the same way as the traditional definition of marriage.

Those women don’t choose how many wives her husband has - that’s his decision, and she is meant to submit.

Answer #2

Because in their relgions and in their customs, it is normal. Most of them don’t even give it a second though, just as how we dont give a second though to only having one wife.

What’s in it for them: I can think of a few things lol -You have someone else to please your husband when your not in the “mood” -There’s more women to help with the housework -There’s more women to help with the cooking -You get more time to yourself

lol

If the woman is ok with it than to each their own. However I know in many of these marragies the woman is supprest and 2nd class

Answer #4

Hmm this is a complicated question… From the examples I’ve seen, it’s usually women who are not so wealthy, and they have these rich guys offering them a better life… they’re younger so the men tend to pay more attention to them than their first wives… I mean they’re getting all the stuff and the attention… the question is why on earth would the first wife stand for it… usually because they dont have a choice… (it’s like wives who stay with their husbands who have mistresses…)

Answer #5

Traditionally, men married for sex, and women married for provision. That still works in a polygamous relationship.

Answer #6

A friend of mine who has one wife and kids has been approached by several younger women for a polygamous relationship. With monogamous marriage proven to be a dismal failure at 65% divorce rate (and that’s just those who even bother to get married!) they see him as being a far safer choice than just risking every thing on some guy who’s only claim to fame is he’s had sex with a bunch of girl friends. With my friend, they can plainly see how he treats his wife (and there fore, how he’ll treat her after X number of years of marriage), and also what kind of father he is.

So no guessing, no taking chances, no risk.

Just good old fashioned Big Love, baby!
