Please help me, how do I convince my dad to take in a puppy?

There is this puppy I really want, but my dad will not let me get her, she is a free puppy, and has all of her shots an has been spayed. I have many pets but I really love her. She means the word to me, and cannot stand to be away from her, my dad claims we cannot afford her, but she is small, and will not eat much, please help me, I love her soo much, and cannot live without her. It would help mentioning my dad and I are not close at all, we are like strangers living together, but he is still my dad.

Your dad says you can’t afford it, why do you argue with him? Do you know what bills he has to pay? Do you have any idea what it costs to feed even a small dog? What about vet bills and licensing?

He said no, and his word is final…you’re just going to have to forget about this puppy and be happy with the animals you have.

There is no such thing as a free puppy… Vet bills and food are expensive… And yeah, you can live without her… What exactly are you going to do when you turn 18 and move out to go to college or wherever and have to leave her behind? The dog’s going to be your dad’s dog a lot longer than it is yours. When you’re an adult and have your own place, you can get whatever you want…
