How do I help out my mom and dad without trying to take over?

Ok my mom and dad have soon to be 8 kids still with them and they have 5 kitty’s 2 are mine and they have 2 dogs.I want to help them b/c we make a higher income and my dad’s on diability b/c of his back injury.I feel like I should pay for their cable/phone/internet bill it’s only 150$ a month and that’s like candy to my husband and I.I feel like it’s the least I could do because they always took wonderful care of me and loved me and I’m fortunate to have caring parents.I just don’t want it to seem awkward. How would I offer them? we’re all really close but I don’t want my dad to feel like he can’t provide.I also pay my two cats monthly food and litter bills and anual vaccinations.I also helped my mom w/ her animals and paid for theirs too.I just don’t know how to let my dad feel good about it.A little help please?!

Answer #1

I’d simply tell him that he did such a good job raising and providing for you that you now think it is your turn to repay a little.

You don’t say if your mother works or not.

Hopefully your dad won’t be offended and will consider it one of the results of his doing such a good job bringing you up.

Answer #2

‘You spoiled me for a lot of years, I’d just like to repay some of that kindness’.
