Why do people hate the police when they keep us safe?

There’s some corrupt cops out there. I guess that’s one of the reason some people hate cops.

I hate my towns police because they do NOTHING.

Probably their encounters with Police (traffic stop, etc) were not as expected (to protect an to serve)….they may have had an experience where ‘guilty until proven innocent demeanor/attitude’ my have been projected….rare cases but happens…and gives all a bad name/impression

its because people don’t like when they get ticket for speeding because the way the person sees it is that there are worse crimes going on and yet the police have time to give them a ticket for something so minor

I think it is to do with intimidation and the thought of an authoritative figure. Also often the police can come off as rude and abrasive. I my self find them rather intimidating just because of the thought that they could lock me up in prison if they saw the need to.

Well, yeah they protect us, but there’s the times when you get the as$hole cop that gets mad at you for a very small mistake.

The police where I am are rather rude and condescending and when something real happens, little action is taken, however, when it comes to giving minor speeding tickets (not street racing or anything but like 10kph over) they’re all over it.

I certainly admire and respect the job the Police do but on the other hand police have given me a hard time with no good reason. Ever since I was drawn on by a cop I’ve been leery of them. They are armed and if it comes down to my word against theirs they almost always will win.

Like in all careers there are good people doing the right things for the right reasons …and there are those who exploit it for all the wrong reasons. the job of policemen is like any other…but it holds more power and control over others lives. Unfortunetley, the corrupt ones aren’t always about protecting and caring and ruin it for those who are.

all cops are bastards since they don’t now a damn thing they just shoot first and ask later
