Obama is going to help? You are going to rely on a politican to save the planet? What has Obama done to help the poor, or what has he done to help his brother who is poor? He hasnt even given his brother one penny of his money.
But to answer the question people do care, but these people are not in it for the glory so you will never see them.

It’s very mature of you to be looking at the bigger picture and trying to put things in perspective. Im not being patronising by saying that but it’s true - a lot of people don’t share your views and concern even as mature adults. I sponser a child and I donate money to causes despite being unemployed myself. I donated money to the victims of the bushfires that we had - it saddened me so much to see all the kids, parents and animals who had perished in the flames. But yes society is generally getting more selfish. I can’t speak for everyone, but I agree with what you say. Hopefully things will get better.

okay here’s somthing .. I come from the philippines, I actualy dont know whats happening but why is everybody, here in my country, wearing OBAMA SHIRTS!!! I dont get it, I havnt even seen some one wearing our presidents face… and it sucks to see people point at the problem and still relaying for others to help them.. and still they feel okay about it.. and when I talk to others about this “thing” they just stare back at me… (–) am I the only one noticing the problem?

In 2004 we were 2nd to the last of developed countries (after Italy) for the amount of foreign aid we gave to poor countries. This isn’t because we use private charities to provide assistance since we give them even less.

America is closer to being the least charitable nation in the world.

As far as suffering in the world 2/3’s of mankind live in hunger squalor and hopelessness. Not only that but this has pretty much always been so. The only difference now is that some of the lucky 1/3 that were fed, protected, and hopeful a year ago are now suffering as well.
