What do you have to say about the people who believe the Holocaust is a myth?

My brain is malfunctioning - for a moment I though you were asking about the Rapture (oh, I need a vacation)….Yes, they are definitely close-minded and ignorant.

I don’t even understand how they can deny it. Six million jews DID die in concentration camps. World war two DID happen. What can they possibly reject? Jessica summed these people up nicely.

I’ve met a holocaust survivor, and the stories she told us were some of the sickest I’d heard from a person who wasn’t trying to write a story or something. You could see in her eyes all of the pain she had been through. If someone could honestly meet her, and then say there was no holocaust, then they should just have no right to speak in my opinion, because that’s just ignorance and disregard to something very serious.

I wasn’t there so I’m not a witness to it. The vast majority of historians are convinced that the Holocaust occurred and was of the claimed proportions. I tentatively accept the consensus but I can’t entirely rule the fringe view that claims either it didn’t happen or that it was a much smaller scale than claimed. Best I can tell Holocaust deniers are motivated by their political views. White supremacists, NAZI sympathizers, and certain religious sects deny the Holocaust because it occurring goes against their worldview. This is similar to the fringe view that man caused climate change is a hoax; the view is attractive to pro-business and anti-regulation ideologues. Even though I think Holocaust deniers are deluded I can’t patently dismiss their claims. Their theories should be scrutinized and considered. Either way no doubt the result of such inquiry will be better historical knowledge and understanding.

I think it’s sad. We have so much evidence. I’ve seen horrid pictures. A nazis points a gun to a man’s head, while he’s kneeling before a pit of rotting bodies. A holocaust survivor explained how she saw Nazis march children to the gas chambers. I believe it happened 100 percent. Anyone who denies should have their head examined or better yet be dropped into a pit of multilated bodies.

Are we better off never to question? There is no such thing as as an unprejudiced accounting. This is why criminal juries hear both sides of the story and deliberate between their twelve uniquely biased frames of reference to best determine the truth. They, of course, have been misled and mistaken. Nothing’s perfect.

I have less to say to people who may hold an incorrect belief for any reason be it disingenuous or lacking perspective, than to those people who would begrudge them their opinion, which seems to be the intention of all these recent loaded questions regarding the Holocaust. A confederacy of dunces, no matter how popular, seeks its own demise.

I disagree. It is not an opinion that the holocaust is a myth, it’s ignorance. There is evidence to back it up. Cold, hard, concrete evidence. Some just refuse to accept it for some reason. It’s like when everyone thought the Earth was flat, but somebody claimed it was round. He was shouted down by ignorant bastaards who insisted it was round. Eventually, the evidence was so undeniable that people changed their views to stop themselves from looking stupid. Unfortunately there are still people that believe the Earth is flat (http://funadvice.com/r/14qu5rjibuo) despite the blinding evidence. Some people just refuse to acknowledge simple facts; one of the being that the Holocaust happened. I’d like to see a holocaust denier face to face with a Concentration Camp survivor and see what they say then.

I think the belief that AGW is a hoax is attractive to people who are more pro small business like myself. Large corporations like GE, international banks like Goldman Sachs, and venture capitalist billionaires like George Soros are deeply vested in the credit swapping derivatives business and have spent a lot of money and used their respective media outlets to push the agenda. We understand that regulations work in the favor of those corporations wealthy enough to abide them or to flout them… similar to the way that the largest corporations manage to pay the lowest percentage of taxes and receive the greatest amounts of corporate welfare, read:GE, Google, Goldman Sachs.

I think you are missing the forest for the trees. You completely missed the gist of what I was writing, but you managed to take on the airs of indignity in doing so… so I suppose to the members of your clique you have retaliated against the evil forces of true open mindedness…someone liked it. People are in prison for disagreeing with you. All ignorant people should be put in prison or shut up though… right?

as the army found the camps Ike made shure that pictures were taken and they can be seen in many war documentrys, He had the pictures taken for evedence for future generation would know what they found. aJust so people could not say it did not happen.
