Would there be any negative side-effects to taking anti-fungal medication (over the counter) when you don't have a fungal condition?

I went to the doctor twice because i found several circular patches of dry skin on me. They were circular, had a ring -like appearance, reddish, raised edge. I have several on my arm legs back and other places. Iam convinced it’s the ringworm, but each time my doctor just glances at it and tells me nothing. Should i try some over the counter medication?

Answer #1

It sounds more like eczema than ringworm. Get a cortisone ointment.
