How will taking the same medication affect me down the road?

I have been prescribed a medication that I have to take every day… And it supposed to prevent me from getting headaches/migraines as often as I get them. It’s working great right now… But I have only been taking it for a month. What I am wondering is, down the road, is there any way that the medication won’t take effect anymore cause my body is so used to it? Is that possible?

Yes, your body can get use to a medication and make that medication less effective. The other side effect of long term medication use would be a dependancy on that medication. I don’t mean an addiction I mean, without that medication, you may get more headaches that when you first started.
