my teddy bear hamster?

my little teddy bear hamster, mickey, got stuck in my bathroom walls last night and when he finnaly got out he was covered in hair and dust bunnies. is he ok from crawling around in there? he hasent showed any signs of distress or anything. I don’t know if he is sick or anythingaccept he dosent drink as much water and he sleeps a little more often… I cleaned him off too. do you think he got sick from all of the dust and buggs?

Answer #1

he should be fine, but if in a few days he is still looking bad, or worse, you should take him to a vet

Answer #2

he hase been skinny is that all right

Answer #3

nope- critters are very resilient, now hopefully he didn’t gnaw on anything dangerous while in the wall- like insulation, or wiring, if he had done this you would have known about it fairly quickly. it sounds like he just had a stressful time while roaming through unfamiliar territory. let him get used to his little world again and let his stress level go down, and he should be ok. remember that critters in their natural habitat are used to non clean environments- dirt , and dust are an everyday thing in the life of a rodent. and they are generally smart enough not to eat things that are dangerous.

he should be alright.

Answer #4

normally when ill they have spotting, diarrhea, limping and barely eating.(etc.)

Answer #5

He should be okay, once it was like midnight and I wanted to play with my hamster before I went to sleep so I let her out in the kitchen and she got into some tiny hole and was crawling around in there … I sat there for like 2 hours until I could finally get her out … had to make her come out with sunflower seeds lol. Same thing happened but she was fine, she lived a healthy life.

All we did was clean her and she was good to go.

Hamsters are tough! Once my friend came over and held her then dropped her from like 5 and a half feet onto cement (I WOULDN’T RECOMMEND TRYING THAT!) Ya she started limping so we thought she broke her legs but in half an hour she was perfectly fine … it was amazing :| lol
