Do Dogs Have "Teddy Bears"?

My Chocolate Lab has a favorite toy, a stuffed monkey, that he carries everywhere, sleeps with and ALWAYS wants to take with him when we leave the house. He never chews it or tears it apart – although he does do this to other toys – and seems to treat it like a child treats his favorite teddy bear… Is this normal or common behavior? I’ve had many dogs ovver the years, but have never seen this before… And it’s been going on for three years! Thoughts? Ideas? Answers?

My dog carries a flying squirrel everywhere…it’s kind of a “frisbee” like thing made of canvas…but he sure loves it…

my dog does the same thing! he’s a west highland terrior and she has this stuffed squirrel she brings everywhere, mostly when she’s in the car, she won’t get in unless she has it, she is probably scared we won’t come back for it. but yeah she loves this thing. [=

my westies has the same thing. he loves his blankie which he has had since a pup which he sucks on. he loves it and wont let my other puppy go near it! big softy! its normal dont worry
