My family is getting their first puppy

And my dad is allergic so we are getting a short-haired one and we want a puppy that will bark at intruders, but also be the most loving and playful to my autistic brother. I just want a puppy thts cute <333 I think we should get a puppy that looks like this. What do you think??

If your dad is alergic, avoid getting a dog at all. It is not the dog’s fur that aggravates the allergy, but some chemical in the dog’s skin. Even a hairless breed will affect your dad. But if you really want a dog, get one that is considered good for allergy sufferers. And for your brother, you should consider a breed that is good with children and affectionate. Finding a combination of these things can be very difficult, but with enough research, you should be able to find a suitable dog. Try dog breed selector quizes on the net; they’re really usefull. Also find out about as many dog breeds as you can from websites and books. Some good sites are: justdogbreeds.com yourpurebredpuppy.com dogbreedinfo.com
Or you could just use search engines. I hope this will help you, best of luck!

a yorkie poo is good and protective and is a dog that does not shed whitch makes it very unlikely to make someones allergies any worse

Answer #3

awww the really small puppy is so cute!!! I would totally get that one if I were you. since its young most likely you can train it.

Well the last one you put looks like a Bull Mastive and them just like Great Danes get HUGE. Do you what a small dog or a big dogs? The Picture attached is one of my Danes he was misbred and is deaf and partly blind, but he does know sign language and His name is Harley.

Chihuahua’s are suppose to actually take away people’s allergies?? Don’t know about that but they are good for people with allergies and Bichon’s actually have hair not fur. So they are very good for allergic people as is a poodle which is why so many people are breeding poodle mutts. Dogs bred with poodles so that people with allergies can have breeds other than one that looks like a poodle.

Be careful of barkers because you want a dog that barks only when they need to not like a Terrier that drives you crazy barking at everything that moves.

I love Boston’s and Boxers because they only Bark when they need to. They are actually very quite dogs.

Good luck

You need a breed with very little doggie dander for your dad, and one who is patient with kids…the dander part is any dog who’s coat needs to be groomed (poodle, Schiz sou, Westie, Bichon,…dogs that shed little, as their hair grows…

Bichon’s are friendly…happy little dogs, with little shedding…Poodles and most terriers are a little too nippy for kids.

I think you may be asking a lot out of one little puppy, lol. But I would get a breed that is known for being good with children and that is a good watch dog. Golden retrievers are great but they have long hair. I say, go to the animal shelter and ask them which short-haired pup would be the best for your autistic brother and your other special needs & get that one. You’ll be saving a puppies life at the same time.

I don’t see a puppy with your post.
