When do puppies get their period or do just dogs get it?
When does a dog get her period? Do just dogs get it or puppies as well? How often do they get it? How long do they last? What do I do? How do you know she has her heart period?
What Phrannie said, is all correct. You will have a happy, healthy puppy if you have her spayed at 6 months old before the first heat. Don’t ever have to worry about her coming into heat and keep her your little girl for a much longer time. No mess no fuss. It doesn’t even seem to bother her much either. Very safe now days.
Puppies come into heat around 6 or 7 months…it last 3 weeks…one week “coming in”…one week “in”, and one week “going out”…best to have your dog spayed at 6 months…They’re hard to watch when they are in heat, to keep them from getting pregnant…and shouldn’t even BE bred until they are about 2 years old.
