1- how old is your cat? 2- have you had it checked for diabeties? 3- do you have a CLEAN litter box readily available for it in a convenient spot? Some cats like privacy when using the bathroom… Which may be why your cat runs off to a room- if you have a litter box without a top on it- I’d suggest getting one with a lid that snaps on… So the cat doesn’t feel like its just all. In the open… And depending on where the box is… Maybe moving it to a more secluded spot.. Like a laundry or bath room. Where there isn’t constant foot traffic. 4- is this a problem all the time… Or just when you change something? Like changing cat food, a change in schedules, new people in the house, or someone left recently… Cats like consistancy… If you change something major (to them) they tend to act out… Lots of times by peeing or pooping on something that they know you’ll get mad about. To show you that they are mad… Good luck!!

pepper on the spot it pees on is a way to prevent it from doing it again, at least on that spot :)
