What can I say to my mother for crashing my date?

I went on a date last night, and found out my mom sat in on the last half of the movie me and my date were watching. She was seeing a different movie so I knew she was there, but the fact that she had to come into the movie I was seeing and heck probably try to find me in the crowd, really upset me. What can I say to her without getting in trouble?

Answer #1

Ask her straight out why she doesn’t trust you?

Answer #2

She think she is entitled to getting into my business because she is my mother.

Answer #3

Tell her you are responsible enough to handle yourself and say it in a confident way but still be respectful. :)

Answer #4

Oi… Now that is crap. I know the feeling. My mom AND dad did the same to me on my first date… sigh. You have to remember that, even though its annoying, she is doing it because she cares about you and is looking out for you. Try and keep this in mind when you talk to her about it. Try saying something along the lines of “I know you care and worry about me, but you raised me right. I want you to trust me and it hurts me when you do stuff like this, because I feel like you can’t trust me. In turn you are also breaking my trust in you… I want us to always have an open and trusting relationship, because you are my mother and I love you… So could you please, not do this next time?” Remember to have this talk calmly and respectfully. You are not going to get anything if you start throwing a tantrum. You need to show your mom that you’re growing up and that she can trust you alone on a date. And remeber this… In a few years from now, you are gonna look back on this and laugh! ;-) Good luck hun!
