How can I fix my low self esteem?

hi I’m 13 years old 5 ‘9, 113 pounds and in the eighth grade. I am sure that I have one of the lowest self esteems in the planet. I feel bad about everything about me. I think I’m fat, ugly, weird, and I feel like nobody likes me. Even though people always tell me other wise. I’m always being told that I can be a model and that I have a great smile, but when I look in the mirror it makes me wonder if I’m looking at the same person that everyone else is. I’ve always struggled with depression for some unknown reason. I could just be sitting around and then I get so sad that I want to cry please help me.

I’m very sorry you feel as if you are fat and ugly. You’ve probably heard this before but in order

for you to build your self- esteem up, you have to accept yourself. i know it might be hard but its worth it. In sixth grade, i was about 115- 120 so i know exactly what you are going through.

If you want to be skinnier ( you dont need to lose a lot of weight or any weight at all but if you do please pay attention) just do exercise in small portions. I guarantee that you will lose at least 8-10 pounds or more in a month but remember to try to eat in small frequent feedings. It’s good at times to have a little sweet after ( i usually eat candy on a certain day or eat only a little bit everyday; i love chocolate).

Please don’t starve yourself. That is a rule. DON”T! Starving causes loss of energy and you might even faint. P.S. As for you thinking your ugly, i hope you know that make- up can’t fix it and neither can surgery. I know you must be thinking: “What is she talking about?” Well all I’m saying is that nothing can make you feel better about yourself than to look in the mirror and say “ I can finally accept myself. I can finally look at myself and wonder how lucky i am to be so beautiful.” Please dont do anything rash and just remember that no one is perfect but we can always try to to achieve it.

if your friends say you could be a model. you could. say to yourself “I am pretty.” It helps alot. belive me. I used ot feel ugly and that everyone hated me. I have a bigger cheast then most 14 year olds. I never wanted to go to school. I wanted to hide away. A little make-up changed it. and any time i looked in the mirro I said “i am pretty. no matter what anyone says.” After time. I felt pretty. It works for alor of things. if you say your fat look in the mirro every morning and night and say “i am not fat’ it will help. dont give up.

im 120 and 5’7 think of me as this im fat ur not . try to ejoy ur self i make fun of myself in front of people cuz im a littel over wieght and u know what thats how i have so many great friends that care about me . depreation really hurts and i see what ur talking about . that word is just a bad word to me its like that colors black and gray . try to get over it its not a good thing try to see yellow and oragne that that . i how u feel betterr

5’9” and 113 lbs? im 5’8” and 140 lbs, so i doubt you are fat at all. try to find the good things you like about yourself and put those out there. if you are funny, then by making people laugh is a good way to get ppl to like you. everyone likes to laugh. try different sports or clubs at school or in your community to see what you are good at or like to do. when you find something then work on it and you will get better at it. and you will feel like, “ya, i can do this bc im good at it.” or something like that. hope that helps a bit.
