Looking to lose like 20 pounds in one month....

I have met this incredible guy! I mean just amazing but I think he likes skinny girls…. We talk all the time, one day we had a 3 1/2 hour conversation at Starbucks, and we’ve hung out 3-4 times and last night we talked for 2 hours on the phone.. I want him to like me… I want to be perfect. so I want to lose 20-30 pounds a month, and i have decided I am going to do this by: drinking water before each meal, only eating saltines, rice cakes, celery sticks, berries, and apples. Plus 2 cups of prune juice a day…. I am going to keep my daily calorie intake under 500-800…. Sound good? Should this work?

I’m glad that you found a guy you really like :) It’s great. However, why be something you’re not and have to MAKE him like you? You don’t even know for sure if he does like skinny girls. It’s understandable that you like him and that you want him to like you too. And being skinny isn’t really important at all. What’s important is staying healthy. I like your idea of drinking water before every meal (do it about 20 minutes before every meal, a cold glass of water) and that will help you in a way. However, just eating saltines, rice cakes, celery sticks, berries and apples. I have never in my life went on a diet, so I have no idea how these work except for the fact that you still are getting a particular amount of energy and a balanced amount of protein, etc, etc every day. So yeah. I’ve heard about a few diets and out of the many, I think I’d take the slow carbs diet instead of any others. I mean of course, cut down on the amount of unnecessary food you’re eating, like junk foods. Eat salads and stuff for snacks instead and cut down on the carbs. It makes a huge difference. Now slow carb (as well as I understand it) Is not avoiding carbs all together. (If that were the case, it would’ve been called NO carbs, of course). It’s just cutting down the amount of Carbs you consume and eating other things instead. Just taking low portions of food with carbs, know what I mean?

Of course, I’d suggest you don’t go on a diet at all, just take care and be careful of what you eat, but if you really wanna follow a diet, maybe slow carbs would help? I’ve never went on a diet, ever. What I do most of the times is just stay conscious of what I eat. And I eat like small portions of food but eat a bunch of times. Like every hour or so, I’m eating something.

I’m against the idea that you have to be a certain size for some guy to like you, for you to get asked out, for you to be a model, for you to be called “acceptable.”

Remember, size is JUST a number. And the “acceptability” of your size, who says you have to be skinny? Is there a law or something that says “Only people with a size so and so are kown as humans or beautiful.”? No. So size really doesn’t matter. And if you have to be skinny for him to like you, I don’t think he deserves your time at all.

Good luck to you. :)

Just to add, you NEED carbs to live. You can’t completely cut carbs out of your diet, it’s unhealthy. I think that your goal should be to get HEALTHY, not skinny.
