What kind of medicine do you recommend to get rid of a cough fast?

Silly me i should have worded my question better. Yes that’s what i mean minimize the symptoms so there not as bad.

I use tylenol daytime pills. Just take 1 or 2 a day is what works for me. I currently have a cold right now and I feel fine when I take one pill
