Kiddie cocktails are mixed drinks with no alcohol. The classic is a Shirley Temple which is club soda with some grenadine and a cherry. They let kids feel like they fit in at a party with adults who are drinking. The most popular ones I see are virgin pina coladas and virgin strawberry daiquiris. At parties I often alternate between an alcohol and a non-alcohol drink so I won’t drink as much. My usual “kiddie cocktail” is a lime bitter or tonic water with lime.
