Why does the water in bottles have expirsion date although it was under ground for millions of years ???

Answer #1

the chemicals in the plastic leak into the water. you know how they say not ti use plastic bowl for your dogs to eat or drink out of it because every time the get a drink or somtin they take some of the chemical in.

Answer #2

My guess is it’s because the seals on the bottle break down over time, and air will eventually leak in, allowing mold to grow inside.

Answer #3

Chemicals in the bottle leech into the water, and the longer the water stays in the bottle, the more chemicals will end up in the water.

Answer #4

Found this from a site called 7squared.com:

“Water is known as the universal solvent. What that means is that it will absorb almost anything. So, even though it’s been on earth for millions of years, once you put water in a bottle it’s life is limited. Its actually better for you to drink tap water than bottle water because florescent lights, the kind of lights that illuminate every convenience store in the world, help grow bacteria. During the bottling process, there are various processes used to clean up the water including filtration and ozonation. If too much ozone was added, the plastic will leach into the bottles. If too little ozone was added, bacteria can start growing immediately.”
