I was told I had OCD when I was little, I think I have it again.

I was told by my doctor when I was in kindergarten that I had OCD. Because I washed my hands until they bled. I struggled to get over it and finally got over it when I was about 6 or 7.

Then I got really disorganized and sloppy when I was 8.

My problem is, I’ve been trying to get more neat and organized, but while doing that, I’m afraid I have become OCD again. I need to find a balance between sloppy and OCD, quick. Please help me!

OCD doesn’t go away, you just learn to deal with it better.

It doesn’t have to be a bad thing, you just need to set your own controls instead of letting the disorder do it for you.

Like she said, a person with OCD is a person with OCD… You just learn how to live with it better. Will you always have the type of mind that thinks about things in a particular way? Yes. Do you then have to act on what you’re thinking? No. And that’s when you learn to live with OCD. When you aren’t doing the behaviors compulsively… Are you neat because well things are more efficient that way, or can you not stand things being out of place? There’s nothing wrong with being neat, there’s nothing wrong with being hygenic (these would be good things to most people), you just have to watch yourself a little bit and see that you’re not compulsively doing things…
