How to make a John Adams costume for my son?

I need ideas on how to dress my 8 years old son on john adams character. Him and his Class are doing some presentation. And he is doing john adams, please I need your help on how to make some kine of custom for him.

Ok you should try to get an old jacket from the second hand store and get some white material to make some ruffles for the chest area. Get some white stockings and some black shoes and if you have an old pair of black pants you could cut them below the knee and put elastic onto the bottom to give them the bulb look on the end. Hope this helps.
