I need advice on moving out

I want to move out, I just turned 18. I live with my crazy mother and her boyfriend. Me and my mom constantly argue, and I think she bi-polar- runs in my family. I really want to move in with my boyfriend who lives in another state. we can live with his family, free of rent. All I have to do is get a job, and continue going to highschool. am I being irrational?

Answer #1

Agree with both the others. Keep your head down. Stay out of the house as much as possible - school, after school activities, JOB, whatever. After you graduate, then move out, or if you can, go away to college.

Answer #2

I honestly think you should just stick it out until you finish school. Yes, you are 18 and can legally move out, but you would be moving out of state and living with a boy. Your school is probley going to start slipping especially if you have to get a job also.

Living with someone else’s family may seem like a good idea right now - but it never works out good.

Answer #3

I agree with mandyloo. You should seriously consider finishing school before moving out. Getting a job and moving into a new environment could be more difficult than you are anticipating. It might be an arduous task, staying with your family, but it would be the best move for now. Get through school and give yourself a good sense of direction and then maybe you can make the big switch.

Agree - Best Plan: education, ring, date, marriage, then rent a place of your own / your home…Take care !!
