Make yourself comfortable with you, wait not the counseler talk of “love who you are” listen– it took quite a while for me but finally, I enjoy who I am and how healthy I have become. I starved countless times- anorexia, bulimia, punishment for eating with cutting and pain, but -finally- small meals made me lose weight. Your body does need food or else it goes into starvation mode and puts your metabolism to a hault. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT Once you are starving yourself, your metablism drops. Therefore, even a side of plain broccli (no butter) will metablise slowly and you can gain weight from a side of fresh vegetables. Eat a little at a time always, try for natural food. I also suggest when you have a craving- indulge. You might waste your daily calorie allownce but the craving is out of your system and you won’t want to eat sweets and dessert. Seriously– I am off sweets all together, it’s not even appeling to me anymore. Good luck, but give your body a little food at a time, if not your metabolism drops and you gain weight no matter what.

You don’t look fat to me…

Come on. You’ve seen people who are overweight. It’s probably an insult to them, to say you’re fat. You’re not, okay?

Answer #3

YOUR NOT FAT. people who weigh arroud 110 and under look very unhealthy. I am 90 pounds and I am15 and I am 5,6. Thats only because I have a fast motabolism or however you spell it and I eat probably more than a big family does. The reason why you arnt losing weight when you exsersize is because your not eating a lot after you are done working out, you have to eat to order to gain mucsle and lose weight. it’s just how your body works. Being 119 pounds does not make you look like a “hippo” you’re not fat at all. Maybe just go on a diet accasionally, just watch what you eat. Like maybe cut down on the sweets, pizza, cheese or whatever makes you gain a lot but I can garentee you are not fat. Trust me. and dont even think of going bulimic or annorexic. Thank you. If you have any questions, just message me. -Julie.

I think that it is awesome that you are asking for help. It takes a lot of courage to ask for help when we need it. There is nothing wrong with you because you feel fat. I think everyone in one point in his or her life feels fat or ugly. You are not alone with this problem. When I was your age, I was struggling with these issues. As you grow and mature, I hope you realize that you are a beautiful person no matter what you look like on the outside. It is very tough to realize sometimes because we live in a society that values looks rather than our hearts. I also wanted to share with you some information about weight. I encourage you to look up ideal body weight in your search engine. I can tell you before hand you are nowhere near being over weight because you are a lot closer to being under weight than over. If you are still struggling with this issue, than I suggest talking about it with an adult that you trust. Remember you are beautiful. Comparing yourself to other people is unfair to you because everyone struggles with their image of themselves at one point of time.

Tip: Drink a glass of water (8 oz) before eating anything when you are hungry. It will help you consume less calories.

  Average Teenager Weight

http://lifestyle.iloveindia.com/lounge/average-teenager-weight-236.html

“What should a minimum calorie intake be?”

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

I calculated your bmi at http://www.bmi-calculator.net/ and it said:

You have a BMI of 19.8. You may want to try the south beach diet.

BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9 (Normal Weight) People whose BMI is within 18.5 to 24.9 possess the ideal amount of body weight, associated with living longest, the lowest incidence of serious ilness, as well as being perceived as more physically attractive people than persons with BMI in higher or lower ranges. However, it may be a good idea to check your Waist Circumference and keep it within the recommended limits.

So sweetheart, it’s normal to feel ‘fat’, it happens. But, you need to realize, you are no where NEAR ‘fat’. Which means you are most definetly NOT overweight. And you know what? Even if, the scale gives someone a number that is classified as overweight for their age, etc. it doesn’t make them fat. I’m sure you’ve heard many times, that muscle weighs more than fat, and it does! You say you work out, good for you! I have friends who eat the junkiest foods, and don’t work out at all, yet, like your friends, they weigh a lot less than I do. They just have fast metabolisms is all. I’ll tell you one thing, I play rugby, we have conditioning practices everyday after school for 2-3 hours, I work out at least 5 hours on weekends, and I don’t eat much simple starchs and junk. However, I am like 5’5, I am 15, AND I weigh 156 pounds. It’s not numbers on a scale, it’s how healthy you are. I have strong legs, and arms, I’m not a crazy bulk girl, and I do have extra weight that I could lose, but no one thinks I’m fat. I don’t think I’m fat, I know that I’d feel better without the extra weight, but my thyroid problems cause losing weight to be a lot harder than I’d like. You’re young! Don’t get mixed up in what your friends look like, and concentrate on being positive about your own body! :]]

Answer #8

Actually, no, you don’t know that you are overweight. Why? The fact is your not. Not even close. Just because your friends are 110 or under doesn’t make you fat. You really don’t need to lose weight, it’s annoying how people who are skinny or fit think that they are fat. THEY AREN’T! It’s normal to want to eat after you work out. If you say you work out, then probably most of that 119 is muscle? You are nowhere NEAR fat! But anyhow, eat lots of protein, fruits, and greens.
